Gratings
Gratings by Roossien, they stand alone!
There are many types and sizes gratings available. Do call us or send us an e-mail if you need professional advice. We'd be happy to be of any assistance!

Gratings types: Pressed gratings, type PG and PA
WWhat is a pressed grating? It is a grating made of steel strips, of which one side has a load-bearing function (bearing bars) and the other side a filling function (transverse bars). Bearings bars and transverse bars are pressed together into a grating, subsequently the whole must be embedded into a frame. Please notice: galvanisation only guarantees protection against corrosion, not against disintegration!

Tread finishes;
1. Smooth, type PG is the most common finish. Among other things, this type is used for floors that don't come with specific requirements. Meanwhile architects have extended the application of type PG to interior and exterior wall cladding, sun protection, but also to safe balcony fences.

2. Antislip serrations, type PA for extra grip.
The entire surface is provided with antislip serrations and offers more grip for footwear as well as it prevents slipping.

Electroforged grating, type PL
What is an electroforged grating? It is a grid of steel strips, of which one side has a load-bearing function (bearing bars) and the other side is a twisted transverse bar. As soon as the bearings bars and the transverse bars come together during production, the grid is exposed to high pressure and with current every joint is welded. With a mesh width of 30 x 30 mm, the number of welded joints are 961 per m2!

Because of the provided stability, welded gratings are ideal for heavy and very heavy loads. For the industry, safety has become a priority; hence the increase in demand for type PL. Water, oil or dust are often the cause of slipping and therefore of accidents, with all its consequences. That's the reason why an increasing number of industrial buyers choose welded gratings.

Types and sizes, call us for a good advice!

We will spare you the search through the many charts, since each type of grating has its own specific features and applications. We'd be happy to help you, so that you can install the right grating without paying a penny more than needed. After all: a good advice cuts the price!

Inspection of floor gratings
ZAre your floor gratings as safe as you think they are? Each and every day people walk over your floor gratings. Often confident without giving it a second thought, but is that with good reason? Who is in charge of the check-ups within your company?

You might want to ask yourself;
  • Are there any grating clips missing and are there sufficient clips?
  • Are there any loosened grating clips and can they fall as a result?
  • Are the gratings not upside down?
  • Do the bearing bars or the transverse bars carry the load; in short, have they been turned around by accident?
  • Has a piece been sawed off in order to realise a 'perfect fit'?
  • Has the right type of grating been applied and installed?
In most companies safety has priority, but please, beware that the floor does not collapse under your feet.
Call in Roossien Hoogwerktechniek to conduct a professional inspection of your floor gratings as well!
